Duke nukem- help me save my telly

Anyone hugely familiar with the game? Downloaded it for xbox, and got stuck at a point and getting pissed off way more than I should be.
I can't name the level as I have lost the plot and turned off the sodding thing, but I'm basically stood with a three position switch in front of me, with a desk behind me with three switches on it. Can I remember what to do? Can I buggery.
Anyone less retarded/more familiar help me out?

It's been a long, looong time, but I vaguely remember a tricky puzzle like the one you describe, where there's a picture or display on the wall somewhere nearby which shows how the switches go. Maybe.
