BF2 - Improvements
Discussion
Having only played the one demo level on the XBox it's hard to know what the rest of the game will offer but I'd be happy with maps that don't funnel you in a set direction, something more like BF2 used to be where are various "flags" or missions each squad can carry out individually rather than it being quite linear.
More weapons is always nice too.

On BF Bad Company 1 they released a free DLC download a few months after the game was released with a more open map and the original BF Conquest game type.More weapons is always nice too.
Theres not much else I would do to change from what I have played from the demo, it just needs a little polishing.

Not having to put a thousand bullets into to someone to kill them. It main gripe with the game. other than that i love it.
That's still my main problem too... I'm still finding I shoot people in the chest with a a good few shots at close range and it's not killing them. It's not only accuracy, I'm not missing these people, they just don't bloody die.I've found this to be partly true, atleast on the xbox.
If you fire in bursts its much easier to kill.
After playing the BETA on the PC, its much, much, much harder.
However, damage balancing does seem a bit off. I mean, in BF2, take a hit from an MG or a tank, and you were dead. In BC2 you seem to be able to survive tanks. And the heavy MGs feel like pea shooters.
The large choice of weapons is nice though.
However, it feels very COD to me, its lots most of the battlefield feel I think, and its gone very console'y too.
I'm actually thinking of cancelling my pre-order.

Yes I did think it was strange to use a Heavy MG and still need to put 2-3 bursts into someone to kill them.
I was also thinking you need to be able to go prone.
I also noticed that if you get run over by a tank which isn't moving fast, you don't get hurt... But I do enjoy mowing people down with a quad bike.......
Also, I don't know if it's possible to mute your team mates who blether away....... That should ALWAYS be an option in on-line gaming ! I had one yesterday who must have smoked 60 a day to breathe that heavily BUT the little fecker didn't talk at all.. Just sounded like I was listening to a dirty call and I couldn't shut the fecker up.

Sorry, that was me, I just find big guns turn me on.The biggest thing these need to do, IMO, is tweak the points system so that a win gives you more points. At the moment you get more points for tooling around killing folk than going for the objectives/win.
Aside from this, it's pretty good. The damage thing is a bit odd, and the guns almost feel more powerful if you use short bursts.

Thought about why?
When I was in the SAS, we were taught to double tap and shoot and move. None of this running in, panicking and hosing bullets everywhere on fully auto like many gamers do. BTW did you know that SAS stands for Super Army Soldiers?

Well, I'm glad you hadn't eaten a curry as well or it'd be burp city. I wonder if they could implement some form of anti-muppet system - i.e. you take off in the AH-64, go 40ft and then crash it into the ground.. Next time you try to fly it says you are too stupid to fly, letting a more able team mate take it instead....

Prone!!
Its been in every BF game so far(the proper ones anyway :P, not the console crap) and surely it cant take them much to implement Prone for the PC version of it.
You are an idiot fanboy, sorry but you are.Its been in every BF game so far(the proper ones anyway :P, not the console crap) and surely it cant take them much to implement Prone for the PC version of it.
Battlefield started on the PC.
They should have develped for the PC first, and then modified for the consoles, but unfortunatly, most developers do things the other way around.
Prone was an excellent feature in BF2, it would be nice if they put it into BC2.

The whole point of them releasing BFBC2 on the PC, as well as the console this time around, is to determine whether or not they can phase out console releases in the future. Which imo, is a great idea, as good as BFBC2 will be on the console, it won't be anything like the pc version, especially once people start adding in their own modded content, like the good old days of BF2.Also, I'm not too worried about the lack of "improvements" in the current beta, considering it's OVER A YEAR OLD. It's the same build they demonstrated at E3 last year! From what I've been led to believe, the retail version will be very very different, and much more finalised (hopefully!). That said, it still runs better than the AVP demo..!

I think Dice's comment on not including it was to avoid to much people being snipers, although that doent seem to have deterred people from what ive seen, with most games ending up with half the players using the recon class.
