Game newbie advise PS/ XBOX

We have a WII for the kids, great for sports stuff, but car games not brill. I played either a PS3 or XBOX at xmas that was amazing, I drove Le mans in any car and having driven there in reality (not racing) was blown away. But dont know the game or game unit...could it be Gran tourismo???

Also saw a demo of a rally game could be Dirt 2 ???? dont know!!!

Any way whats best game unit to go for and what are best driving games?

If you want the best driving game, you can either get Forza Motorsport 3 on the Xbox, or you can wait (for an undetermined period of time) for GT5 to be released on the PS3. TBH I can't think of many other good driving games for the x box but my mate has Race Driver: Grid for PS3 which seems a decent enough substitute until GT5 is out. There's also a new F1 game coming along soon too which I would imagine being on both consoles.

I'll let the fanboys take over for now.

I would imagine you were playing Forza 3 on the 360, that's the only game I've played on the 360 with all the LeMans tracks. For me Forza is the best racer around at the moment, I've only just stopped playing it now that Mass Effect is out and it's rarely been out of my Xbox since it was delivered.

GT5 will be just as good as Forza but God knows when it'll be released so I'd forget about that for the time being, not played any of the Dirt games so can't comment on them.

You were playing Forza Motorsport 3.

And you can buy the 250GB 'Super Elite Console' with Forza 3 and a 2nd controller for £199.99 @ Amazon

This differs from the elite console as that has a 120GB HDD.
Do not buy a white console, as they all come with no hard drive now.
