New to Xbox: What games do I want?

Finally got myself an Xbox (well, got one for Xmas at least). I'm a total games noob, only ever played GranTurismo 1 on PS1!

I have a copy of Forza Motorsport 3 which I am enjoying a lot, even though I am a mong at it and am already wishing I had a steering wheel

So what other games do I need?

I quite fancy being a sniper.

The whole DJ Hero/Guitar hero thing appeals but don't want to buy controller accessories at the mo.

Knowledge me up geeks!

I'm currently mostly playing Grand Theft Auto 4. Yes the game has been out for around one and a half years but I have only had my Xbox since November.

GTA4 is rather fun and it was only £12 new from amazon when I bought it. Bargain.

Left 4 Dead 2 is fun too, esp multiplayer.

Of course you then have COD4, COD4 MW2.......

Call Of Duty modern warfare 1 and 2, Gears on War 1 and 2, Grand Theft Auto 4 and alot of people like Shift and Grid for a bit of less serious racing.

My answer to this is always, The Orange Box, it's worth the price for Portal alone but you also get Half Life 2, HL2 Episode 1, HL2 Episode 2 and Team Fortress thrown in too, bargain!

ETA: Also Trials HD from the Marketplace, games don't get more addictive than this.

I'm still playing Fallout 3 after a year. And GTA IV is excellent as well. I was enjoying DiRT 2 until I got addicted to Forza 3, but I may well go back to it at some point.
Other than that, I can't recommend Guitar Hero highly enough.

Start with the older/cheaper stuff, once you're done with those the newer stuff will be the bargain bin anyway.

Forza is good, but two copies is overkill surely.

I can certainly recommend Resident Evil 5, much better than Gears 2 for me.
