MW2: Any ideas on this error message...was someone cheating?

So, last night playing a quick game of Domination, full 9 a side, one team doing (much) better than the other and then everyone was kicked out of the game with the following message displayed:



Was someone being naughty?

The idiots must spend more time inventing the next way to cheat, rather than actually playing the game enough to get any good at it. Boils my p1ss quite frankly.

Tell you something else that isn't right - the knife add on to the guns, makes the melee attack effective to about 15 ft from the person, collison detection about as good as on my old Spectrum.

It wasnt my doing - Chopper Gunner had been called in by the oppo and we were all kicked into the lobby.

What I wanna know is how people work out these glitches, do they sit there and just test every single combination and scenario with button presses or does this info leak from the developers or B testers???

I have seen someone standing 100ft in the air over the top left corner warehouse on derailed, that was weird.

I've done some digging and it appears to be through someone messing with game config files using a JTAG enabled xbox 360.

There's lists of all the MW2 variables etc (CVARS/DVARS) online, and it doesn't seem too much hassle to hook up something like IDA Pro or whatever to the hacked in JTAG port, and modify these settings live, kinda like a debug menu.

I'm amazed at the links people will go to to cheat at an online game...

Ok, it's not as straightforwards as changing things on the fly, takes some faffing around, compression and decompression and no doubt will require the use of a firmware modded as well as jtag modded xbox, which will probably be banned from XBL before you can say "hax0rs"!!...

Known as an Elevator, there are 2 on Derailed I think... you can get out of the map by doing it.
