Guitar hero type games!

So who has these games? I picked up guitar hero Metallica with a wireless guitar from HMV for £30 on boxing day. I don't really lie their music, but world tour is also on offer for £8 so got that.

I am really surprised how much I enjoy playing it (on easy). Great fun and actually makes you feel like you have some musical ability (I don't). Considering getting the drums and maybe the Beatles game soon.

So who else has this? And is it online multiplayer?

We all loved it in my household.

And then we realised none of us (3, and one is a brilliat guitarist in RL) could do it on hard, it was too fast.

So I sold it, for £15 less than I bought it for (60 rrp sold for 40).

unfortunately its one of those games that requires a bit of practice and patience.....you don't need to memorise songs at all though.

Its immense when you are able to step up to the hard / expert levels though and you get to play something actually resembling what the songs sound like rather than on easy / medium when you get to play a random selection of notes that don't quite match the song.

It did take me ages to be able to move up to the 5th note... and yes some of it is actually impossible.

I would suggest selling all game consoles and hiding in your attic as obviously nobody can make a game that can please you.

Definitely user error... Callan - have you checked your internet settings? I dont suffer similar problems with the game.

we have a guitar hero stand in our store and you see some kids are just fkin awesome at it. saying that all you hear is click clack clcik. but in their minds they're slash from guns and roses *LOL*

Fallout 3 plaesed me greatly. So did PGR4 and BF Bad Company.... And Burnout Paradise and Colin Mcrae Dirt......... And MW2 and Halo 3.

I didn't like Op' Flashpoint (is anyone still playing that?) Guitar Hero and Forza 3.

In reality I have liked many more games than I disliked.

Guitar Hero is just Simon Says set to music.

Check you haven't got lag between the sound and the screen, you can calibrate it under options

I got quite annoyed when I bought GH:3, but after calibrating it I loved it! since got rock band, world tour (me and my sister annihilated the band mode this xmas)

Its so much fun when you have your mates round for a few beers, a pre-town session on world tour is top notch

I bought GH2 and clocked that on hard quite easily, I got the Metallica version for Christmas and even on medium it's quite tricky, watching a couple of the YouTube vids of folk getting 100% on Expert is fairly nuts, no idea how much time they must dedicate to mastering the tracks.

get Guitar Hero 2 if you have an Xbox, its awesome just for Guns and Roses.

Hot for Teacher is the biggest bh of a song, but satisfying

I've loved GH since the first one came out on PS2 and have most of the games released since then (have an Xbox now). Still think it's awesome. It's often out at parties or I just play it with my gf. Haven't tried it on XBL yet, Forza's got in the way.
Just like a real guitar, practice makes perfect. I've finished all except World Tour on Expert (can't do the bloody battle with Zakk Wylde).

And before anyone has a dig, yes, I can play real guitar too.

No error with the guitar my otherhalf got one form hmv on xmas eve for £30.00 works fine I got one on xmas day from the band hero set.

I got Rockband 1,2 and Guitar Hero Metallica, got the drums and geetars. Great fun when you get a band together.

Callan check your set up I have no trouble with the game in fact got a 467 note streek on Drums on medium the other day. My four year old regularly gets in the high 90% on bass on easy.
