In the thoughts of the well informed, what is a quality 1PS that is newish on the Xbox 360?
Good online play is the major buying factor here, as opposed to single play, but joint missions would be good.
I am a huge fan of Gears of War2. I originally hated it, because I was a fan of Vegas2 and preferred the controls, more strategic quality. But GoW2 grew on me and I prefer it now, the melee and forward rolls and things add to close combat. I played a bit of one of the CoD games, not the new one but the last one before (I think) on the recommendation of a GoW2er mate, and found it highly disappointing. I was/am a huge fan of the classics Goldeneye/Perfect Dark/Quake/Duke Nuke'Em if that helps.
I know there are new ones out there (before GoW3 arrives
) like Left for Dead? Bioshock? Wasteland? Once I would have tried to get them all, but that's not practical for lots of reasons now. I fancy buying a top 1PS which I can have as much fun on as I did with GoW2.

The single player is supposedly very good.
If your after more of a single player pick up and play game then Left 4 dead 2 is good. Im currently shelving COD in preference of L4D.

Does seem to be an issue for some ppl, but the clan and i never really have issues, I have MW2, based in UK, play online all the time and have no problems, barely lags and when it does host migration works well. I guess everyone has different connections, but when searching for a game it pings the games for less than 50ms ping anyway which is certainly good enough.If your after more of a single player pick up and play game then Left 4 dead 2 is good. Anyway, back on topic! FPS - COD MW2 is the one of the moment, probably the best imo. There's also Halo of course, but it's a toss up between scif fi and realism, depends what you like. There is an FPS/RGP out at the mo called boderlands which is a good laugh in single player and online as well. Or of course L4D2 if you like shooting zombies.
All is going to change when the new BF comes out in march tho.

It was my favourite game of 2007, and the one that surprised me the most. I genuinely wasn't bothered by it, and a friend basically insisted that I buy it.It looks wonderful. It oozes atmosphere. It has a decent plot. It's clever. It forces you to think. You can play it a number of different ways. It makes you laugh. It scares the crap out of you. It's full of memorable moments.
I really need to go and replay it..
Give Fallout 3 a whirl, no online play and more of a Role Playing Shooter but still the best game of the last 10 years.
Also Battlefeild Bad Company is great online and gives a complately different play style to CoD.
Lastly don't overlook CoD 5 World At War, gets a bad rep' but the single player is better than MW2 and the multiplayer is very atmospheric and a bit of a grower.
