Unable to play cod6 ...

Nat settings are strict.

I have the laptop upstairs wireless, cat5 plugged into that, Firewall is off on both Hub and laptop, all ports correctly fowarded.

I sit and wait for any game and nothing. 15 minutes of fk all.

£45 for fk all. What a bargain may I add. The best fk all I have ever bought.

Yet I am currently playing cod4 no problems. In a game within seconds.

Any ideas?

We've all been suffering on the connection front it's very frustrating. Your quite clued up on computers and if you can't get it to work something is badly wrong. Have you spoken to your internet provider just in case it's their side?

Don't mean to sound stupid but isn't it the NAT setting you need to sort? Put the xbox in the DMZ and forget about the port forwarding? That worked for me.

Despite that; I had a more reliable game connection when I was on a moderate NAT compared to open...

I think I have NAT2 and UpNP Open/Off....

I will check later if the OH permits me a bit of time on the PS3.

Have you tried a different router?

Have you checked that the ports are being forwarded to teh right IP ( you XBOX hasn't picked another up from DHCP?)

Who's your provider? As i've just had the same problem with this open/strict settings and have resetted the router to backdate the firmware/latest install.
My provider is O2.

I don't know why everyone else is struggling? CoDMW2 has been spot on for me recently. Quick at finding games, hardly any host migration, very little lag.

have you tried different playlists? I usually play Hardcore HQ and have no problems.

TBH the game pisses me off and it's mainly due to the lag. I find snipping ok but one on one situations I always end up being killed first. Very frustrating!!

The latest BT Homehub now has Xbox Live setting in the advanced settings. A lot of people find their router reverts to a "strict" Nat setting every time Live has an update so it is nice to have a game that now tells you your Nat is set to strict in the main menu.

Never had any problems... been using a belkin router and on bt internet. have set my DMZ to my ps3 ip and my NAT has always been 'open'.

Try a different router maybe??

The very worst part IMO is the failure to include a local search, so when your playing yanks there's is going to be a small amount of lag semmingly in their favour.

Too many times have I run around a concrete corner and been shot half a dozen steps from were I was on deathcam!
