colin mcrae rally game?

i've recently been playing this an just like to say its great an i recommend it.

- an also if theres another poor bastad who also cant get past the sweden rally stages!!!!!!!!!

I can't seem to come above 2nd in the Advanced 4WD, which is really winding me up I can come 1st in the first 3 rallies, but then drop down into second in the Championship table and can't recover it.

I bought Dakar rally 2 for the PS2 the otherday not to sure about it at the moment.Ive got toca 2 on the PC and the getting kicked out of the championship if you score less than 15 points ruins it.Mccray rally looks good might get it next week with GPL

WRC 3 is about the best on the PS2 (apparently) and just got it from Game £19.98 in the sale

Good so far but only just got past Sweden.

The physics engine in WRC 3 is awesome especially with a logitech wheel, its very very realistic, you can really feel for the grip in a corner and balance the car well on the accelerator. If you know whats coming up ahead you get a good indication of where the weight of the car is lying and can get through chicanes at an astounding speed.

A few other aspects really let the game down tho -

1. The pace notes suck, I don't think they really put much effort into these - me and my mate have started pacenoting the stages ourselves. It takes bloody ages but knocks eons of your stage times - maybe we'll sell em when they're complete

2. The reply is totally frustrating - it won't stay on the same camera view - normally we'd review each stage a couple of times from the helicopter to make sure we're calling the right notes to be in a particular position at a certain corner. However the view changes randomly and won't stay on the helicopter.

It's about time that these games allowed you to pause/rewind/fast-forward the replay just like a VCR - it would be totally cool to be able to freeze the view and then hop between different cameras.... maybe one day.

On the whole though its a great game - love it to bits and play it heaps.

I bought the last two CM games but this year i bought the WRC for a change
Highly recommend it
Although the driving doesnt feel quite as real as CM (bit easier if anything) the graphics and extra countries make up the differences and allot more
