you should be tempted, its a very good game, the frustrating bit is just me i suspect.
as getting used to playing games with HUGE maps like fallout 3 and oblivion and being able to fast travel to places rather than jumping in a car (with a rocket launcher I might add) and going across the map.
The online co-op is pretty good, you get a the same money as your mate when they pick some up. and it really does help on some of the boss fights

Been playing it for weeks now.Me and two other mates did coop all the way through to level 50, then finished the
downloadable zombie island and have now finished one level of the new arena addon.Class game, if a little easy.
Forgot to say, almost every single rocket launcher we got was useless. We never used them at all throughout the whole
game, which seems a bit odd.

It's O.K, would have seemed good but I have played Fallout 3 which smashes it into the ground by being that amazing.
The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any point to exploration, there is nothing to find except money and guns. You spend time opening all the boxs and finding the hidden nooks and crannies and all you get is more guns or more money that you can use to buy guns.......... and here comes the killer........ there is no way to collect the guns, if you had an armoury to fill with all of the guns there would be some point but there isn't.
The shoot-em up aspect is good but the crappy exploration element seems to get in the way of this and slow it down.
There is also a massive oversight with the boss battles, usually you fight the boss in a sealed arena but if you die you are outside the arena with the boss battle still running, so you can just shoot into the arean from the outside and walk away and regenerate if your sheild gets depleted.
In summary. Shooting = Good, Exploration = A boring chore

There's 17million guns, it'd be a hell of a warehouse you'd need to collect them all
Its a different game than Fallout. You should IGNORE the single player, it's all about the 4 player co-op, the enjoyment grows exponentially witht the amount of people playing.
Loads of big guns, 4 people running around shooting, collecting, buying, upgrading, improving. Its a good laugh, but compared to Diablo (which its kinda based on, but taking a different approach) it lacks any real customisation in equipment and builds.
Good fun though.
And the only decent weapons in the game are Pistols, followed by SMG's, and Snipers for long range stuff. Ignore Launchers, Rifles, Shotguns (especially) and the Alien weapons. All rubbish.

Odd really, as I did the entire game as the soldier and used only shotguns and a sniper 95% of the time.None of us really used pistols as they seemed really poor! We also used no SMG's.I know the guns power can vary from character to character depending on which skills you assign, but shotguns and snipers were the way forward for us.I also loved the soldiers turret gun. That thing saved our lives so many times.I would come zooming across a level to a downed apponent, drop the gun (which would also heal and give ammo), dive in behind it, save my friend and be gone again as it was still racking up the kills
It also attracted the enemy, so on a few missions where we just decided to "leg it back", you could spin, throw it and keep on running as your pursuers stopped to try and smash it up.I agree that the single player is still good, but the drop-in and drop-out when you like coop is where it's at.

My character is currently awesome with Revolvers and Sniper Rifles but absolute s
te with SMG's and Rocket LaunchersJust played my brother's copy of this last night and my goodness it's fun.
I hadn't really realised how much fun it was until I got up this morning and thought about carrying on.
Got to buy this now, going to love playing online with him.
Also, a little tip, you only both get the money found if you're close to each other - go too far apart and you don't get the other player's cash.
