Joystick games update

Well I have my new Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.
And after seeking advice here on suitable games, I have looked up all recommendations and bookmarked them for future reference, thanks.
I bought the original IL2 in PC World for 97p!
But I have not had a go at that yet.
I have found a site called Good Old Games where you can buy and dowload lots of old school games for small money, they come with manuals and are already configured for XP and/or Vista.
Anyway, I bought Freespace for 6USD, they also have IL2 1946 and Freespace2 for 10USD, plus many other great old games (all genres).
Loving Freespace and wondering why the joystick games died a death.
