PS3 and MW2 - online multiplayer still not working!!!???!!

OK so i need to vent some fkig anger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so ive had the game for a while now and it still wont fkng connect to multiplayer

Connecting to matchmaker server...
updating ranks..
etc..

or words to that effect, i left it like that for seven hours - wooo it changed the font on my player name and put rank 1 and a single arm stripe, but still hasnt connected and further.

im fkn sick of it. have any real people managed to get online with this sht?
what routers have you got?
have you had this problem and then been able to connect?

In all seriousness tho, I've heard loads of people having trouble with PS3 online, you aren't alone.

works fine for me, although i sometimes (once every 4 hours of play or so) get a PSN disconnection which causes me to get booted from the game 3 minutes later, losing that games stats.

Just a suggestion. Does any of you remember when this used to happen on MW1 and a reset of your router normally fixed it, for me anyway.

Have you guys tried this?

I had issues for the first 2 days, but my PS3 version has been running perfectly since. I would suggest, as others have, that it is a router/internet issue. Could you maybe take the PS3 to a friend's house to try another web connection?

I dont use my PS3 for online gaming, the PSN is a load of w@nk
I had COD5 on PS3 and it was appaling

PS fanboys say "at least we dont have to pay for online gaming"
personaly i'm very happy to pay MS a few £'s per year for the XBL experiance they supply


hopefully the PSN will be a better set-up by the time GT5 comes out (that is what I bought my PS3 for)

Had no problems since the first few days. Have you reset your router recently? What is your NAT?

I had the exact same problem and it pissed me off no end! Can you sign into psn ok? How is your Internet set up? My problem was my router. I changed mine and it worked. If you go on ps3 you can find your network settings. Post the here for me.

its annoying how bad PSN is. Last time i tried it was a joke, there was so much lag in a game of little big planet that it was unplayable, the chat system was so bad that we both ran our xbox's JUST for the party chat function. Its a console with such potential!! its got better hardware but the software majorly lets it down. Im realllly considering cancelling GT5 after it being on preorder for the past 2 years... a sad day.

ive uninstalled and reinstalled redownloaded v104.

will wait and see what activision support come up with.

It sounds exactly like my problem - everything else worked fine apart from MW:2. Do you have access to another internet connection? As soon as I changed my router everything worked like normal.

sooooo.... its fixed and im online getting my arse kicked.....

i hadnt rebooted the ps3 since upgrading my routers firmware.

ive hammered activisions support system so i feel a bit sorry for dissing them

Again to all the people saying about paying for Xbox Live, just wait until Xmas time. The servers will probably be buggered up again like the time COD4 was released. Then we'll get some crappy Xbox Live Arcade game for free.

mine seems to be fine, using a bt home hub with the cheapest broadband they do, it sometimes gets stuck on the game settings bit but i just reset my router and its fine again

Darn, got the same problem. I have turned it off and turned on again on both my router and my ps3, deleted the patch and downloaded it again, tried the disc and my psn at a friends house. So it is either my ps3 or router, but R2 still works online, so rather annoying.What Activision support were you hammering? if you had a particular persn you were talking to, they would probably understand the problem better?ThanksHandle
