Xbox Steering Wheel - Stand, Platform, Table YOUR DESIGN

After playing on my daughters Xbox 360 with their new Xbox steering wheel and peddles, its very frustrating and hard to control with it shuffling about on your lap etc. And we don’t have a suitable table to start dragging round the house to clamp onto.
If interested I am offering you guys the opportunity of designing a stand that I will manufacture, produce and despatch to one of you FREE OF CHARGE. The best design wins, its that simple.
Base it around 19mm MDF sheet material (as a starting point). Any vector, dxf or line drawing I can follow and cut on our CNC router machine. It can be machined to avoid the wheel base unit moving around and as fancy a design as you like. Additional fancy graphics and go faster stripes could be added at a later stage but to start off lets get the design to work correctly first.
I just sketched this very quickly to get the ball rolling. Start adding your ideas here. As you can see my idea is very rough so don’t be embarrassed!

I just bought a fanatech wheel stand, was cheapish, and much easier than making my own (which I have done in the past)
altho forgot to say - building your own rocks, and it was lack of space that made me get rid of my past creation, not lack of use/love for it.

A quick sketch i suppose :P - sizes are all wrong, but you get where i am coming from. It would be all made out of MDF like you said, only different material would be the bent aluminum for the curve on the front. Didn't have time to bother making a chair and wheel but you can see where it would go.
From another thread, here's my effort:
Surround sound fitted to the chair with a the sub under the seat and the angle of the wheel is adjustable, it did have a slider for the seat but did away with that and fixed it when I got hold of a bucket seat instead of an old fiesta one!
Storage is an issue but it does dismantle a bit:
The steering wheel unclips and is stored underneath where it bolts on. I've made couple of alterations since so that I can use the chair for MW2 and feel my head being blown off as I'm shot!
I think for a while there I'd spend longer working on a chair than playing the game, worth it now though.

Got an Xbox and wheel set for xmas and having the same problem. I was thinking of trying clamping the wheel to one of these

But now I have seen the whole proper diy seat set up and knowing there is a stash of mdf in the garage :-)

I was thinking the same, but after looking in ikea the other day I found it way too flimsy. Ideally I would have liked something like the playseat, but don't really have the space or cash to have anything like it, so I resorted to an old steering wheel set up i've had for a while but haven't used until getting the new wheel - a staged table with various different levels to put things on like the wheel, pedals etc. It just looks a bit of an eye-sore compared to some of the nice set ups out there.http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/0012081...
