Mgs1 is now on the psn store if anyone is interested. 7.99. Not sure how well it will go down on this forum but I love this game. Feels great playing it again. Already completed it again twice to get the stealth and bandana

i have every MGS game released on playstation(1,2,3). i loved the part in MGS4 where there was the 'flashback' to the original game. it's amazing how the graphics etc have progressed.

Yeah me too.. I'll also admit to getting the roms for the original Metal Gear 1 and 2 on nes Bit of a geek when it comes to MGS I suppose..

I'd love them to give them all a lick of paint and release them as a box set for PS3. Even if they just used the Gamecube Metal Gear Solid as the base for that game.

MGS3 is still my favourite though, they'd got the bosses just about perfect.

Yeah They should do that. They released a box set in American but it was never released here. Boo ..

Yeah #3 was class. But MGS1 is still my favourite, just seems perfect bar the graphics, But I think the gamecube version ruined it by trying too hard. Had Snake doing back flips and stuff in the cut scenes, It just took something away from the original for me..

... A sock over the pad and a pencil always worked for me no problem.. Even on European Extreme

The odd thing about that scene is that I always thought the stealth camo was a much better reward than the bandanna (even though the latter was harder to get), what with there being a fair bit of ammo scattered around anyway.

Very true, Same for mgs2/3 etc. Stealth is always easier to get. Which is why i normally submit to the torture early on to get on with the game.

Is such a good game!! I think i completed it 3 or 4 times back on PS1. i shall download it tonight!

I remember being overawed by MGS1 when it came out. It was the first time a game had that big budget film quality to it. Totally immersive. Music, graphics, story and cut scenes all seemed like a cut above

I've not got a current generation console but I was very nearly buying PS3 when MGS came out. Still get tempted from time to time now.

Dooooooooooooooo it! Surely you could get a 2nd hand ps3 and mgs4 for £200? Or the new slims are only £199 at the min.

MGS4 is a masterpiece I reckon. Alot of people say there is too many cut scenes etc. But if you have followed the story all the way through then there is alot of need for the scenes, to explain everything. Plus the graphics are still better than ps3 games being released now, a year or so after mgs4 came out.

Don't tempt me. It's only the fact that I don't have a hi-def tv that stopped me last time. Surely it would be wasted on my old Bush CRT no?

I'm about to blow over £300+ on tyres for the car. Now, if I downgraded to Nankang NoGrips I could use the change to buy a PS3 and MGS! Maybe not.

I've just started dabbling in flogging my old crap on Ebay, so if I can get enough readies into my Paypal account maybe I'll make a purchase.

I still have my PS1 copy upstairs, I don't think I ever want to play it again though.

It has some of my favourite gaming memories and I don't want to ruin them.

i could never get into MGS4.

i loved sneaking about and everything but the whole mucked up japanese futuristic silly machines and stuff just bored me as ive never been into it. And the bosses take ages to kill. Got to a level where i had to kill some guy with flying angel wing jet pack things and got so bored haven't played it since.

MGS1 is still probably my all time favourite game, loved every minute of it!
