Never being one to sit and read a game manual I have, on occassion, not realised that a particular button will do something useful.

I got about 10 hours into Fallout 3 before I realised there was a jump button (which would have saved me walking round the outside of every small rock like an ant would) and I was on the final quest when I realised that I could repair my weapons by picking up another one of the same kind. banghead

Anyone else done anything similiar?

i know, i know! but in my defence it took me ages to get into the game and enjoy it so I only played it sporadically at the start. paperbag

Not quite as bad but I played all the way through Call of Duty 2 (twice) without realising that there was a sort of "auto aim" - if you look through the sights, it automatically locks onto a target, if it's near enough.

Not really an issue on normal but it would have made it bit less frustrating on playing it through again on the (notoriously difficult in parts) veteran setting. Doh!
