A real Le Mans 24hr endurance race.
4 Teams
2 Cars per team
8 Drivers per team
Racing for 24hrs straight, driver changes etc due to issues with internet connections (you drop out at 23.45hrs gutted) would need to be run as linked consoles. Need to find a central venue that we could have for 24 hours, need 8 consoles

We've thought of this before and struck it off due to the hassle involved.4 Teams

But I would be up for it, it we get enough folk interested and you can use my console if you need to.
16 people in one location for 24+ hours.
4 Decent sized TV's with space to move around and be comfortable.

A mate and I tried to do one of the 24 Races on GT4 from start to finish... 8 hours in and we quit. With more people you could probably sustain the hype better...

Make it a charity-linked event and you would be more likely to find a venue willing to help, as well as making it something that people are more likely to take an interest in setting-up and organising. Plus, it will help raise a few hundred quid (if everyone gets some sponsors in) for a charity at the same time.

May be worth asking a University - De Montfort in Leicester has a computer games suite - all hooked up together - we had a PGR4 comp on there a few years back - Kitch88 nearly won - were it not for some c**t who took him out on the last corner (who took the machine he was playing on home as a prize!)

I think having 8 individual teams might be a little better, and great idea to make it a charity thing.
If you do it as a charity thing and can source a venue (football halls for five-a-side at leisure centres are a good bet, for example), then you stand a better chance of someone like gameseats etc providing you with some support in terms of equipment to get it all running than you would otherwise, not least because it's good advertisment. It may also be worth dropping the Turn 10 marketing people a shout as well. If you get official backing from a well-known car enthusiast's website like PH, they will also see it as potential advertising and may throw some additional help your way. I can definitely get 4 people for one team together, I would suspect others can do the same.I think having 8 individual teams might be a little better, and great idea to make it a charity thing.
t driver i'll come to mop brows and rub the deep heat on I would definately be up for this....
On Lemans on the original playstation, me and a friend did a full 24hrs le mans race in a lister storm. Did three hour shifts each..
I actually found it fairly easy, almost relaxing.
At the end of it we won with 2 laps seperating us and 2nd which i think was a team orcea Dodge Viper.

Editted to add: This was done in school summer holiday when staying up for a couple of days straight living off red bull and chocolate was not a rare thing....
