I've just finished the campaign, sat through the credits and then went to see what finishing the game might have earned me.

"Museum".

As far as I can see, it's just an excuse to try out all the weapons and shoot everyone without being shot at in return. And when you've killed everyone in the room, you leave the room, come back in an they're all "alive" again, ready to be gunned down all over again. I must have mucked about on this for twenty minutes until I got bored.

Am I missing something?

Because I got to the end of the game?

Oh right, I don't see much point in playing the single player bit - well, except the other night when the servers were down !! It basically seems to be the same as all other games of this type in that respect, you run as fast as you can shooting at everything until you make the next checkpoint... I would prefer if it was a bit more realistic with a limited opposition etc.

It has got a great story to it and you are missing out on a lot by only playing MP. Fair enough, the single playe is like a lot of other FPS's but the story is great.

It does have a limited opposition though wink COD4 had infinitely respawning enemies till you passed the checkpoints, MW2 doesn't.

Indeed it is SOMETIMES a legitimate tactic to turtle up and thin them out a bit wink

I hadn't either!

Tip: Make sure you kill some of them before you hit the button.

You can get tooled up at the end of the first room you are in. Claymores and LMGs are a good bet.

there is limited opposition and you can either run and gun or sneak round and pick them off, it's worth it for the kit you use that isn't in multiplayer.

IMHO it's the best single player campaign ever

I played the Favella part of the game and I shot maybe 30-40 enemies whilst I sat behind a wall for a good 10 minutes. They just kept on coming. Same as three blokes on a particular roof - I kept shooting them, they kept coming back?!?!?!

not good that the servers were down, as the only servers are those supplied by the company, there will come a time when u have to pay more money to use the game u have paid or no access to the servers....

You have to move on with the mission to trigger events. If you sit still then the enemy will simply respawn and the mission won't progress.

The COD4 servers are still up after 2 years so I'm not too concerned.

Exactly story modes generally cover say 65-70% of the game!

You don't have to go TOO far forward though, and risk getting annihilated. I've just finished that part on Veteran now that I'm running through again, and there are definite points you can sit, defend, and then the enemies "run out", so to speak.

Veteran? fking Veteran?

Saturday I sat down to do "a bit more" on my campaign at about 11am. Didnt look at the clock again until 5pm which how long it took me to complete it - on regular or whatever it is.

Veteran.....sheeesh. My fking thumbs simply wont operate that quick, even if my brain could. I was exhausted, hungry and stank of B.O.

biggrin

I am doing the campaign on hardened and having previously done COD WAW on veteran am not in any hurry to do this one on it.

On veteran COD games just becomes a game of blind luck as you wade through hails of bullets. I like games to be a challenge.. but there's a difference between a challenge and the tedium of move-die, move-in-a-different-direction-die... .repeat umpteen times until new point of cover reached. start again oh-wait-I-have-six-grenades-to-deal-with..run back to where I was previously-die. etc etc.
