i remember when every single game had cheats. Whether they be a big blower upper gun or god mode or big heads or something. Now there arent any? I recall having to remember loads of random button pushes to get them to work?

And mappable controllers. Why cant they just make a standard gun-totting layout for the controller. Ive been smashing through Rainbow Six recently where R3 is crouch, but now im in COD6 all i keep doing is attempting to stab at something. Zoom is L3 in Rainbow Six, well that just makes you run in COD6.

any other bizarre things you've noticed go missing?

Change the control method on COD to tactical, that way R3 is crouch/prone and circle becomes knife. I've got it setup like that and prefer it.

I was thinking to myself the other day that you don't get much in the way of cheats these days, I suppose it's because of the massive amount of guides available everywhere that cheats aren't quite so necessary.

I don't think theres cheats as such anymore.
Modded xboxs etc so you can fire your gun faster (maybe thats just the controller mods).
But they all get remotely banned now.
Also glitching, it was a PITA on COD 4 - hopefully they've managed to eradicate it from this one as it's really fking annoying!

I always throw flashbangs/grenades instead of running in COD6, it's cost me a few restarts. I think that was Rainbow Six's fault too, since it was RB to run iirc.

I'm getting the hang of it again now though.

yeah you're right. Circle is almost always 'return' or 'esc' in most games. The amount of times ive been looking through the heat vision in rainbow six and pressed circle to return, only to lob a grenade. Doh

That happens a lot when switching between Halo and COD...

Chucking a grenade which bounces off the window frame when all you wanted to do was zoom in... and now you're trapped in room with a live grenade...

You get the cheats like "Ragtime Warfare" and "a goodyear..." on COD:4 after finding the enemy intel items, and I presume there are such things in MW:2, as I've found about 6 items so far smile

Last cheats I used in the old school sense was GTA 4

That's a controller mod, nothing to do with modding an xbox. Don't think there's a way to detect a modded controller

More game focusing on realism and not a great deal of fun. Forza 3 has got the right balance, GTA4 IMO fantastic as it is lost a lot of the "fun" factor seen in the superior Vice City and San Andreas games. San Andreas is still my favourite GTA.
