Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. I got my copy yesterday (thanks Zavvi 
) and finished the campaign a few hours ago. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be as good as CoD4 and I was right: IMO it's better. There are a few surprises along the way; some bad, some good, and some spectacular visuals. The best way I can think to describe it is as CoD4 stepped up a gear. I don't think it'll be to everyone's tastes but I'm completely sold.
One thing I would say is don't play the early levels in front of the kids. There's a warning when you boot the game up about offensive content, which I instantly dismissed. Then I hit the airport level. I won't spoil it for you by telling you what happens but I think there'll be a lot of talk about it after people have played it.
Played a few levels of the new "Special Ops" mode and it's a nice touch. A really clever addition, which will extend the lifespan of the game a bit.
As for multiplayer, I've played splitscreen but not online yet. There are a couple of developments to splitscreen but I'm not sure what people want me to reveal so I won't just yet. I did switch to Xbox live briefly yesterday though and there were 6000 people online! Don't know whether they're all chipped xboxes or what though.
Will try and report back once I've played some more.

I reckon it might be a bit too "Hollywood" for some people's tastes. It's on a much larger scale than cod4, and I'd imagine some people won't like that. Plus the airport level will divide opinion!
Will let you know what online's like later. When the Rugby's finished I might get on it.
As for weapons, there are loads. Guns like the AUG, FAMAS and SCAR, which have feature in other games, are all there. Plus they seem to have got rid of the Skorpion! There is a dual-wield mode too but it's a bit rubbish to be frank.

If people buy a war game, then they know what to expect... it has an age rating and if parents still decide to buy it for little Timmy then its their choice. I can only see it being a problem if its just way OTT, like worse than Manhunt or something.
