Xbox 360 Live and Orange broadband

Does anyone on here play their xbox 360 online using orange broadband?

I want to get forza 3 and play online but ive nevrr been able to get my ps3 to connect to the web and dont want to waste y time if it isnt possible. Ive tried the guides on how to get the ps3 online but they dont work for me and just lose my ps3s web connection.

I use xbox live and orange broadband without any issues.

It is possible to run a test on the xbox and mess around with your router settings if you experience a low ping rate, but you should be ok out of the box!

Hope so mate. The only problem is the phone line socket is down stairs and out by the front door while im upstairs so I am a bit concerned about signal strength.

Another here using live over orange broadband, wireless, no problems, no stutter etc playing games. Only stutter is caused by other players having their network issues.

You do know the xbox 360 isn't wireless out of the box? You need to buy an xbox 360 wireless adapter.

Network Address Translation, basically you internal IP range is different from your external IP address which Orange assign you. Hmm ive hada good read about changing all the ports etc but its just not sinking in

Wonder if id be able to get some computer techy to come around and set it up for me, even if i will end up costing a little bit.

Ally, I didnt need to do any clever NAT/port routing type stuff, was no difference from getting any other wireless device on the wireless network, so worth giving it a go yourself, took all of 2 minutes if that.

I've just remembered something - the Orange Livebox router can be a bugger when connecting some wireless devices. Most (except one) of my laptops were fine, but for some wireless kit you need to put the Live box into wireless pairing mode by pressing button one (IIRC) on the top of the Livebox before trying to connect.

I had this issue with my Apple iPod Touch - my xbox 360 is not connected using wireless, but I guess this may be the problem with your ps3.

Remember you will also need to find out the WEP key used for the wireless network.

Have a read of the Orange Livebox manual.

Yeah, cheers, think you're right - I was sat at work typing that from memory - there is a light on the top that flashes when it is pairing mode.

This gives details of how to get Livebox working with a ps3:

I don't actually know, i'm using wired for the 360, I had the same issues with the PS3 wireless, it was a bh to set up though.

Ive tried pressing the pairing button before but it didnt connect but il try again.

Ive just been going through the connection settings and after entering my WEP key it comes up with

"A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the security settings for the wireless LAN. (8013013E)"

Could it be the settings on my PC that are stopping it as I could set it up fine using windows XP but Vista has been a nightmare

Not sure if this Vista article is any good to you but it got me on live through a PC dongle after months of convincing myself it would never work.

I still havnt decided to sell my PS3 and get a 360 with Forza 3.

Just been looking at my settings and connection list and occasionally even though im not connected it shows 25% signal strength (occasionally 45) and shows a BSSID number then goes back to not connected.

Try moving your ps3 nearer to the livebox just whilst you set it up.
