The ultimate racing sim

I was at Mercedes World yesterday to watch the last GP, in the main room they had a simulator for you to try and get fastest laps on.

Now this thing is the absolute mutts nuts and you feel all the bumps, rumbles and movements associated with accelerate/brake/turn......oh yeah and kitty litters!!!!!

Now I was wondering about getting a group of us together to go to there base just outside Derby for a race morning.

Maybe if there is enough interest hiring the whole set-up for a day, maybe a XBOX vs PS3 vs PC vs PH staff (I'm sure they'd love a go) challenge!

Cool system - they use the Force Dynamics machines. Wouldnt be surprised if the software was a modified version of rFactor or a.n. other gMotor game?

r-factor with some variations. They have to be carefull to avoid 3rd party tracks etc as they dont have the full codings for the system. They only have one of these at the moment and it's the only one publicly accesable in the UK.

Having 'played' on it, I got off beaming from ear to ear, to be told.....'NO!! YOUR NOT HAVING ONE!!!'.....Am I that easy to read?

The sim they were using was Live For Speed.....
All tracks and cars (except the BMW F1 car and the soon to be released Scirocco) in the sim are fictonal and developed by the programers. It does how ever, have a large following and is known for realisic physics and feel.....
