I'm finally giving in and getting one of these things to play the new Forza 3.

So the question is, where's the cheapest place I can get one. I vaguely remember seeing xbox deals plastered up the windows of hmv and the like.

Second question for those who might know: is the elite quieter than the premium/pro?

Thanks,
Stu

Get a premium as it's cheaper than elite, both have hdmi.
Look on amazon, play.com ect or go in each shop and ask what deals that can do you. Alot of the time a deal/discount is easy.

Elite has 120gb hard drive, premium has 20gb. the forza 'super' Elite has 250gb.

Best place i've found are www.shopto.net

you NEED the extra room for forza as it takes up 8GB itself!!

Someone I know picked up a second hand Elite from Gamestation (covered by them for a year) for £130 with a game.

Not sure if that's good, but it's what the hot uk deals website threw up

That's a pretty damn good deal to be honest. Brand new game, Elite and extra controller. I'd say that's worth going for. Shopto has some good deals normally as well.

Personally Gamestation. they know their stuff, albeit in a nerdy fashion. However If i go to Game the staff just seem to work there because its a job, and not because they love gaming. So i spend my hard earned in Gamestation.

I know nowt about these console things but this seems a good price ? £59.99 at comet. Presumably there is some spec issue with this model?

Got mine from GAME last night, £199.99 for an elite with Forza 3 and Fifa 10, Fifa hasn't been opened yet and may remain that way for a while.

That suprises me! My local Gamestation is CRAP. There are a load of heavy metal loving guys (i dont hate heavy metal but please dont play it at 100db) They stand around and chat to themselves and mates. I always have to interrupt them talking about how they rolflmaololFTW'd some n00b. I then bought a second hand game that was so badly scratched it wouldnt play, they then looked all upset when i wanted a refund instead of another one as that was also scratched to buggery!

Moral of the story, if GAME wont accept a game due to a scratch, take it to Gamestation smile

That said, i dont use GAME unless im desperate, Shopto are by far and away the most helpful for my needs.
