Recommend me some games?

I'm getting a PS3 for my birthday in a couple of weeks, and while I know what sort of games I want, I'm still undecided which ones, and could use some input

1. A driving game (obviously ). I don't want GTA, I want a more realistic game. I can't decide between NFS:Shift, Forza 3 and the latest GT, whichever number we're on now. I've read so much about them, it's all becoming a blur... I'd like real cars, real tracks or roads... What's best?

2. RPG. I've played (and enjoyed) a few incarnations of Final Fantasy, but I saw a review for Dragon Age: Origins and that looked quite swanky - although possibly too involved and complex to enjoy. Is there a PS3 version of the original D&D? I know there was a PSP version - did it migrate?

3. Something [u]like[/u] Metal Gear Solid. No idea what that genre of game is called, but I really liked the whole sneaking about thing. I've played CoD or WoW (can't remember which) and didn't really enjoy it - is there a happy medium, a sniper game, or a current equiv or MGS?

4. A platform game. I like Tekken, she likes Street Fighter. What's available on PS3 and what's best?

Well you will be hard pressed to get Forza on PS3 old chap

I would go for GT5P and mess about with that (cheap as chiplets now) until GT5 proper comes out next year.

Get MW2 once it comes out in a few weeks, thats a cert.

What Norbs says. Also Uncharted is pretty cheap and Uncharted 2 has just come out which is a must have.

Agree with what the other two have suggested, you should also look at getting Oblivion: Game of the Year edition, The Orange Box and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (best game on the PS3 IMO).

Ferrari challenge can be had for £15 new.

Supercar Challenge £35 - better than ferrari challenge but the same game to be honest.

Fallout 3 if you need something to take over your life.

Little big planet - you need this game. She will love it.

I have played on Little Big Planet and it is bloody amazing. looking at the box and until you start playing your a little "WTF is this" but then it just hooks you in. Can guarentee you that it will be the only game you play for a few weeks once you get into it. (is a platformer)
