Pre-ordered Modern warfare 2, anyone else?
Discussion
Just ordered the game for ps3 today so will get it on the day of release.
Anyone else done the same?
Ive never done it before but i know the demand for this game will be epic so want a copy to play soon as its out.
It seems there is a standard game, a game and figurine or a game and night vision goggles.. ive got the standard ones as im not sure how good/bad the night vision goggles will be. Also its over £120 for the extra stuff..
Cant wait to tell the gf what ive done, sure she'll be really pleased for me

I pre-ordered it today, along with a raft of other titles, was a bit scary seeing all the money totalled up.
I can't understand the mentality about wanting to drive to all the shops (or any shop for that matter) when by pre-ordering it you'll get it at least on release day, if not a day or two early. Unless of course you actually like standing in line with the great unwashed.

I have no problems with queuing up at all.I can't understand the mentality about wanting to drive to all the shops (or any shop for that matter) when by pre-ordering it you'll get it at least on release day, if not a day or two early. I take it GAME etc will be open at midnight for its release?

Plus sides:
Game arrives early.
Game is usually cheaper than what you pay in the shop.
No money is spent on petrol driving to the shops.
I don't have to wait in line at midnight, or shuffle around a supermarket looking decidedly dodgy until they decide to sell me it.
I can earn money back via Quidco for all my pre-orders, saving me yet more money.
Downsides:
Fear of internet transactions (if you happen to be living some sort of fearful 20th century existence).

I don't care if you 'don't get it' it has nothing to do with you how I purchase a damn game.

I imagine HMV will open at midnight at least, they have gone to the effort of securing the Collectors Edition copies.
Will you be getting the 'collectors' edition?skylinecrazy said:

I wasn't trying to start an argument, just curious why people still insist on going out to get the game at midnight, when there are other ways to do it. If it was for the atmosphere then I could understand it, if it was tradition I could understand that too, just trying to get in your mindset that's all.
skyline, i've got my order in with game.
they are opening up at midnight for pre-orders only. They give you a reciept to show you have preordered it, otherwise you get nothing.
Im pre ordering as i really dont think they will have any copies left by the time i get there if i didnt want to have to wait.

I have preordered the special edition xbox360 console from game.
My bro will get my current console for Christmas.
I''ll be going along to midnight opening of asda with friends to pick up a copy with them in case the console doesn't arrive on the Tuesday. A couple of us will then have the rest of the week off to play mw2.
