DS and DS lite

Just about to treat the misses for our upcoming hols, however a quick question.

Can you play DS games on a DS lite, ie do they both use the same game platform.

Yep, DS games will work fine on a DS Lite, although any DS Lite specific games will not work on the plain DS (there are not very many - if any currently). The same with the new DSi - any DSi specific games will not work on a DS/DS Lite

The new DSi looks like a waste of money a DS Lite would need fine I would imagine.

Thanks for the rapid reply, to be honest i didnt know there was such a thing as the Ds lite until i started browsing ebay for her present.

The original DS is the older version. The DS lite is basically just a more ergonomic and up to date model. The DSi is the latest one with the camera in it for some of the newer games.
