Hi

All, i have just upgraded mine to a 500GB (7200rpm, 16mb cache) and its great, i have over 300GB storage on Play TV and plenty of space for demos, music, pics... the lot. biggrin

Just started doing the conversion for a few mates around my local area, done about 10 so far.

Anybody else done it yet and have they come up against any problems?

I was thinking of advertising the service in the area, what do you guys think?

£90 was a little expensive I think. When I upgraded mine a few months ago I'm pretty sure I only paid £65-£70 for the hard-drive. The upgrade was completely trouble free as the PS3 pretty much does all the work.

The instructions that come with the console actually include a couple of pages on how to do this (along with pictures). So not really that hard if anyone wants to try (certainly not worth paying someone else to do)

That's the good bit. If I ever have a spare few quid I am going to whack a big unit in mine, probably 320GB or therebouts.

I thought that, but i made up a few posters and stuck em on the car this morning before going out. Got 2 calls and 1 booked in smile I thought there are enough people out there who would be to scared to do it themselves no matter how easy it is

I thought that was the price for 5400rpm and 8mb cache, i have 7200rpm and 16mb cache. I have noticed a difference in startup and load speed
