My PS3 has been sorely neglected since I got it at launch, I only have a few games for it, only one of which ever gets played (GT5:P). It plays second fiddle the XB360 unfortunately.

I'd like to change that by getting some decent games for it, and I need some recommendations.

So, what are the best games? I'm mainly into FPSs, RPGs and the odd racing game. I already have COD4, GTA4, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Orange Box for the 360 so those are out.

Ta!

Kill Zone 2 really is worth a look. It might only give you a week or two though. Online is really good. Perhaps I think that as I do quite well compared to COD4/WAW.

The only other PS3 specific title I have is MotorStorm Pacific Rift. Not that impressed with that though.

Metal Gear Solid is excellent - especially if you have played the others, I still think you could understand it if you have not. It's a strange game with some long cinematics in it but I love the series.

Other than that it could be a case of waiting for GT5

I have heard that Drakes Fortune is pretty good and sounds like a good fit to your tastes. Not played it myself (don't even have a PS3), but been mentioned by a few friends that do have one.

Ohhh yea! How did I forget that. Drakes Fortunes is a really good action/adventure/problem solving - Quite a long game too with lots of trophies. You can pick it up fot less tha £15 too on play trade.

You might already have it for the 360 but Burnout Paradise is great fun.

Warhawk is also fun but I'm not sure how busy the servers are these days.

WipoutHD is supposed to be very good, I'd buy it if I could get any time on my PS3.

EDIT: +1, Drakes Fortune is indeed fantastic, and very cheap if you shop around.

Drakes Fortune sounds good, I'm not much of a Burnout fan to be honest, it's a bit too arcadey for me.

What about Resident Evil 5? Any good?

Ratchett and Clank - Tools of destruction (I think that's the right name)

Great game, can get it for £15 from Asda as well

Wipeout HD is a good download, but bloody hard

COD 4 or 5 - Awesome

Tiger Woods is OK if you like Golf

Heavenly Sword is a good budget button masher

+27 for Drake's Fortune

There's also

inFamous (bloody awesome this. Just about to clock it as an evil superhero, get to try it again on the good side. Think GTA with super powers. My nomination for Game of the Year so far)
Resistance 2 (great in a kill everything that moves kind of way)
Super Stardust HD (Asteroids in HD. Also brilliant.)
Wipeout HD
Killzone 2

And soon to come out theres

MAG
GT5
Drake's Fortune 2

For some RPG's try Demons Souls (you will have to get it imported) amazing rpg but ultra hard, also Valkyria Chronicles is worth a look. Sony dont do a good job of advertising their good games.

I personally found drakes fortune really short, it was great though, but zero replay value after it's finished.

Fallout 3 (this one is, as a PH'er quite correcly pointed out, a Time Vampire)

Already got those on the Xbox, and have been avidly contributing to the F3 thread. Keep up at the back! biggrin

Motorstorm - I have the first one, was fun for a couple of hours at best. Ratchet and Klank I've heard about before, will check it out. Thanks for the suggestions so far, keep 'em coming.

No views on RE5? What about Silent Hill Homecoming?

Uncharted is a must, I've just started another play through of this to get the trophies and forgot how enjoyable it is.

Ressistance 2 is a pretty decent FPS, not as good as killzone 2 or COD 4 but enloyable anyway.

Little big planet is worth a punt too, Some of the user created levels are astounding!

How anybody can say that those alien shooters are any good is beyond me.

Resistance 2 is boring and st, GOW2, again boring and linear.

GOW2 was excellent, although the best thing about it is Horde.
