GPL / Steering Wheel
Discussion
I bought GPL a while back but gave up as it's next to impossible with the keyboard. I've now got a wheel for xmas (Logitech 3 I think) which is slightly better but I still find the car very difficult to control - it still seems a bit 'All or nothing'.
I've played with the settings but can't get it to be controllable. Is it just me (ie need to practice more) or the wheel or the setting??? Help!

Could be the settings, is it a Force Feedback wheel, if so you may have to do some tweaking on the setup. Have a look here - http://eaglewoman.racesimcentral.com/gpl/controls/force.htm
Plus if it is you need the Logitech Wingman program running before playing GPL (if it's a FF wheel only though)
Then get a circuit you know well, Monza or Silverstone and set the car type (on the circuit choice page) to novice trainer. This is like a Formula 3 car and gives you less power to check out handling without the ever constant threat of power oversteer to upset the balance. If you have a wheel there is no reason to ever consider using anything else so there must be something you've not set or just need more practice on.

I was doing ok at the start of our 'season' and then moved to a wheel and am just starting to get to grips with it. You need to go over the setting on the wheel to get it to a known level (search for info on pwig's site) and then practice loads.
