I wonder what sort of bandwidth you'll need to track the position of 256 players. I'd wager my crappy ADSL connection won't be up to the job!
I don't really think bandwidth is the issue generally. It's more one of latency. And if you have a BT setup like mine you're just fecked

Shut your gob, Take it elsewhere. I have had enough of all this rubbish. I don't even care if you were 'having a joke' - its not funny.awaits a grilling from the xboy boys
M.A.G is looking very nice, I like the idea of leading my own little team of online dudes, be it a squad of 8, 32, or 128.
I will take a look at mag reviews before I buy it though, there are a lot of other games that look promising, I don't want to spend tonnes.

Thing is, 250ms latency between the UK and US is pretty normal even on decent connections all round - .25 of a second is enough to ruin a game with the old "I'm sure I shot first" thing. Imagine that x256 players?
I don't recall any PC games that have tried to go that high, I think 128 is the most I've seen, so what makes Sony think the PS3 can cope? I'd guess it's just a headline figure and they don't actually care if it will work.
