looks like my ps2 has died, trouble reading the cd/dvd's and grinding noises...


anyone every had one repaired or do i look for a second hand one to replace it

A few years ago Sony Centre took one of mates PS2, gave him a refurnished replacement and sent his off to be repaired.

£30 i think.

Try giving them a bell, they might be able to help you

I had similar(ish) trouble, it wouldn't read some games (eg GT3 ). I now lean the machine at an angel with a book - works a treat.

Do a search in Google or Yahoo for PS2 Laser Calibration. The laser just needs to be recalibrated. Takes no time at all, is fairly simple and makes it good as new! I have a link somewhere but the proxy here at work blocks all my gaming sites. I'll post back later with a couple sites/links.
