Hi, been looking at the PSP go & need some info as i cant really find anything.
Are the graphics better then the old psp?
Am i right in thinking there isnt a disk?
so does that mean i cant play any of my old games, what a waste frown?
I want to get Gran Turismo PSP but i dont want to buy it and then decide i want a PSP GO i've just blown £30!,
any help would be appreciated,

My understanding is that the screen is smaller (as is the whole console) but the resolution is just as good as the current PSP3000.

there is no UMD Disk drive, but it will have a 16Gb memory.

From launch date, Sony have said that ALL PSP games will be available as either download or UMD disc. They are also working on a system of allowing people that own UMD games and movies to use them on the new PSP Go.

The PSP Go is not seen as a PSP2, rather a different version of the current machine and both versions will be sold side by side.

I've had my PSP since they were launched in Japan as I got one imported before Sony closed down the vendors. I havent really used it as too much of a games machine, more for movies and video whilst travelling, so for me the new GO is a great upgrade and I shall be getting one on launch day - along with the long awaited Gran Turismo!

Sorry to tag onto this thread, but will the new GT PSP be brought out for the original PSP as well as the new PSP Go?

jackal - i should think so - its still a big market for sony to ignore the umd users

apparently the game shops will have some sort of dock where you can go to the store and link up your psp go and get it from there.

Screen seems about the same size, it's very good quality, although i would say it does look cheaper than the original unit but at the same time looks more ruggid (sp?). The unit is very light also. Not sure a like the button arrangement. Only functional difference i saw was a bluetooth light.

I have serious doubts that GT will EVER be released for the PSP. Launch date has been pushed back every time for about 5 years now...

I have a copy of a preorder I placed from sometime in 2005. That date means nothing. Watch as it whistles by like a deadline for a student's dissertation.

The screen is actually an inch smaller than the current PSP and has the same colour range/rating. Other than that it seems to be a very clever repackage by deleting the umd drive. If you have a PSP already I would say the GO is not worth the extra to upgrade (it's almost £100 more?).

Here's a comparison of the old and new models - http://www.pspgoprices.co.uk/articles/psp3000-vs-p...

Gran Turismo is free with every PSP Go bought in October, but IMO the Go is still overpriced. Tesco was the cheapest at £199, but they've put their price up to £220, so Gameseek are cheapest now at £210.

alot of the stores on the highstreet arent really pushing this too much for a variety of reasons as i'm sure you can understand

no umd's mean no need for the customer to come instore.

plus the price is a hefty whack too considering the ps3 has dropped within £30 of the rrp

Who bought one then??

Gran Turismo is out on UMD and download as well, so I'll eat my words on that.

My "Piano Black" is currently on charge and waiting for me to activate it to get my free downloads. Is it sad I took the morning off work to go and pick it up?

A little bit chap, just a little hehe

Ironic for me as my PSP is all but shagged, and I bought it back in 2005 for the imminent release of....Gran Turismo...<sigh>
