Half life 2 and Steam
Discussion
Does anyone else have problems loading up Steam on startup with Windows ?
It seems on average of every 5 start ups the Steam software has to be removed then reloaded just to get it to work.
Really frustrating !
The Steam Icon appears on screen but just wont load up !
How come this happens guys ?
Cheers !

Are you on XP or Vista and can you log in to Steam successfully before it stops working or does it not even get to the log in prompt? You could try deleting the client.blob file in your Steam folder as this can fix some problems.

I run XP.
Yes I can log in ok but the problems start when the PC is powered up each after a shutdown.
I cannot even log into Steam at this point.
Where do I find the client.blob file ?
Thanks for your help (-:
I have very little on startup with windows as it's just quicker to boot up and get on with stuff without having to wait for a horde of extra stuff to run, I then just run steam when I need it which loads much quicker when the rest of the system isn't still trying to load.
Doesn't really help though sorry.

Edit with care though, this is your registry and you can break things if you delete something by accident.
