As some of you already know, I play for a gaming clan called Rogue-Force. We have been established since 1997 when the PC stratagy game Star Trek Armada first came out. Since then we have branched out to Xbox360 and have recently replaced our Armada Division with a Forza Motorsport division.

The plan is, to aid in recruitment and member retention, to have a league set up with one or more other organisations. I am hoping to arrange a series, which will run for 8 - 10 weeks for teams of 2-4 racers to compete. I am thinking that we could have multiple teams from each organisation, and that each team should have its own livery and car, so kind of like a touring car thing.

Now, I am new to organising leagues and things, so I am posting now to enquire about the following:

:: Who would be interested in competing in this league?
:: Would you prefer teams of 2, 3 or 4?
:: Can anyone help me get it organised?
:: What day can it be run so that it does not interfere with other PH leagues?

Any help that can be given will be greatfully received.

EDIT: Forgot to add, for more info on Rogue-Force visit www.rogue-force.net No harm in a little shameless plugging is there?

Curry brought this up with me and Chris (idle) last night, and we'd be interested in forming a team. How would the format work etc?

A: I assume you're asking for a "PH Team"?

B: What types of Events/Races are you organising?

C: What "Teams" have you approached so far?

Cheers

Well I'd be interested.

Sunday and Tuesday are the current League Days (@21:00)

What do you need to get it up and running?

Team size would depend on the type of race surely? But as a general consensus Teams of 3 Would be good so that someone can play umpire in the lobby.

Do we need an Umpire? If there is a disagreement, we all save replays and watch them to find out who was at fault. As for format, the only thinkings I have been having is, different circuit each week, run a 3 lapper for qualifying, then run a longer race 10 - 25 laps with points order for the grid as the actual race.

Unless someone is feeling generous, there will need to be a buy in for each team, to make up the prize pot, as I dont have the money to offer up a big prize.

I am looking in to other clans and teams to invite into the tourny, but at the moment im comming up blank. I was also thinking of doing a drivers and constructors championship like in F1, so that even if, like me you are not a good driver, the team as a whole could net you some winnings.

Just early thoughts at the mo, but I would like to get it up and running soon.

Hi Nick, this sounds like a good idea. I think we need have a think about format/cars etc etc. Lets get together with a couple of the regulars and have a chat about this one night. Next time were online we should discuss with Curry/red anyone whos interested. I for one think that the 4 on 4 team option sounds good, but lets talk.thumbup

Cool, when we get the details ironed out, we can advertise the league on FM.net and get others involved it there is a buy in, if not, just keep it to ourselves, dont want someones money going very far away.

The problems I see, primarily are down to number of cars allowed in a lobby.
Realistically you are either talking 4 teams of 2 or 2 teams of 4.

You could also do 4 teams of 4 based on two lobbies (split using the qualifying times, rather than 2 & 2), therefore if one team has 3 top drivers those drivers will race in lobby 1, and may get less points, than a team of lesser drivers that could dominate lobby 2. Bit like GT1 & GT2 which I think would be brilliant.

As to cars that poses another question 1 make (tuned or stock) ? or just a Class, and therefore what 'rules' for tuning.

I think stock gives the advantage of everything is the same, as in the International Cup, maybe using a standard AWE A4 or even just A850 minimal tune.

Flip side is an open field, great variety of cars, maybe even saying no two identical cars are allowed on a team, so someone may want a AWD, or RWD, this could be fun as the course changes (as we saw earlier in the week with the 1 hr tune)

I'm up for this by the way, also worth noting you may need reserve drivers, but I think 4 teams of 4 would be fun, all liveried up etc

Its a lot easier to get teams of two together than teams of 4. Is there any issue with running 2 teams for each org?

As for cars, I for one dont like doing stock car racing. I prefer to race something that I have worked on and developed. I was also thinking A Class, but I was thinking that you set a car for your team. Tho I suppose it would be better to let each person select thier own car.

Two teams per org would work, similar to team of 4 but less pressure if you have 2 no shows, if you get 4 then 2 lobbies.

A-class would be good, I would leave the car choice open, no restrictions on tyres/aero etc however that could lead to domination by high BHP cars (maybe a BHP cap)

Just one question.......this isn't going to just be open to the 'elite' racers, are us mere mortals allowed to join in?
