Don't know if this falls under the "illegal" category, but has anyone installed the HomeBrew channel on their Wii (Not using the Zelda trick - but downloaded a program online and put it on a CD/sd card)

I wanted to play a few emulator games and the website says it will work and not void warranty (As it doesnt involve modding the inside of the console itself). Has anyone used this? Does it get blocked by Nintendo if you go online with the HomeBrew channel installed? If all has worked, which programe did you use?

I installed the homebrew channel on mine but used the zelda trick. AFAIK you must have the zelda disc to get into the mode to install the homebrew. it only takes 5-10 mins.

Ah thanks, a website I was on the other day said simply download a program, put it on CD and run it, no need for Zelda.

Reason I ask is, I dont have Zelda.. so I'm a bit stuck. Don't really want to pay for a game to do it.. and Zelda doesn't interest me in the slightest anyway.

I brought it for £25 from Tesco with the intention to take it straight back to the store, I didn't take it back but the intention was there. See if your local Blockbuster can rent it out for £3

I'll have a look into that, thanks.

Does the Zelda thing involve me getting to a certain point in the game, or just a button combo etc. at any point?

If anyone else has experience of this, by the software or Zelda, please let me know.
