Well... as you guys know, I moved into a much nicer appartment over the weekend and as such am waiting for the phone/internet to get reconnected.

So over the weekend after much building of beds, wardrobes and cuppoards I left the girlfriend to upack some stuff and sat down to have a few relaxing drift runs (yes Cypher, in the RS4 wink )

BUT I CANT!!

After putting the disk in the tray I skipped the intro movie and came to the Forza Screen with the "Press A" instruction at the bottom. I get an Xbox message pop up saying sometihng like "Forza Motorsport 2 cannot run without Xbox Live as it needs the most recent update to the title to run". I'm guessing this has something to do with the Forza DLC I got last week, but even that doesn't make sense.

... anyone got any ideas? smile

Well... My box has RROD'd before and I think you've got the DLC tracks...

So I guess that's 2 things we have in common...

I just don't get it if it's DLC, you've paid for it, downloaded it to your hard drive! and they still wan't your money (Live Sub.)...

Takes the pizz!..

The girlfriend actually commentated on how gutted I looked when FM2 said "No".

Right... So I guess it's the DLC then.

So, how about this...

If I delete the DLC can I then re-download it once I'm back online? Since I've paid for it. Or is it a Pay-per-download type thing?...

Will that even fix it?...

You may need the internet connection live, but you should be fine with just silver membership which is free.

I'm at work wink

Their filters block "almost" everything...

Such as that link, and since I don't have the internet at home yet (which would bypass this problem) I can't check there either! :P

Would anyone with access to the above link be able to paste the information into this thread please?

Work filters block absolutely anything with "game" as a primary focus.

Thank you in advance smile

From Xbox.com link:

First, you must transfer your authorized licenses here on the site.

Second, you must download the transferred licenses onto your new Xbox 360.

Start the license transfer process now.

Note that if you received your new Xbox 360 as the result of a refurbishment or repair, the licenses have already been transferred as part of the repair process, and you do not need to use the license transfer tool, but you may need to download the content again. Check the repair and refurbishment instructions page for more information.

Looks like you'll need to log in on xbox.com and then transfer the licence, before you can then transfer the DLC on your system.

Managed to look into this from some blog sites but their info is pretty obscure.

It's a tool for transferring data from 1 console to another but can only be done once per year.

So I have 3-4 DLC packs... it'll take me 4 years to load all of this onto my console so I can play it offline even though I should be reconnected to the internet and thus solve this problem by the end of the week...

So a few holes I don't get.

It's for moving stuff to a new console. I want to use it on the console I have.

Only once per year. Is that once per console or once per DLC pack?

and to top it off... (Unless i can do it via my phone) With no internet at home I can't get onto the Xbox website to use the tool anyway :P

Microsoft... You are ghey! thumbup

Thanks Cypher and Dibbs (I think wink )

But the underlying thing is... I don't have internet and the Xbox has to be linked to Live for this to work. So even if i could access the website there'd be no reaction from the console...

In other words... I'm fooked!

I'm going to need a massive Race Fest on Friday to get my Forza Fix.

So your console DID have internet, and now you have a diffrent console and no internet ?
