It lets you fire single shot guns like rifles and pistols very fast. I made mine myself, cost £6 in parts from ebay, but is quite hard if your not good at soldering. Have a search on ebay they seem to range in price from about £50+ and one ph'er spent about £90 on one.

My bro-in-law has one. He paid about £40 for it. Makes a hell of a difference in COD!

Depending on if you play cod 4 or cod 5 you will need different controllers. Cod4 can use a simple on off type turbo controller, but cod 5 requires a programmable one as the game detects if you are firing too fast.

Can't you just practice some more? You've got to be a bit of a sucker to use one of those really. hehe

The xboxer who uses it in COD5 is very rarely the the top player in each game. So either they make no real difference or he must be really rubbish without it wink

If you lose this type of controller for racing games, do you lose the feel of the throttle?

I got accused of using one of these in COD4, i just explained (truthfully) that you can just pull the trigger very quickly and get a similar effect. Oh and it doesnt cost me anything either.

Try equiping a sniper, for example, aim anywhere you like and try pulling the trigger as fast as possible. Trick is not to let the trigger fully out, probably halfway when you go to pull it again.

I've never needed one either, if you get it right on the trigger then the spring of it will just get you hammering away.

I hardly ever lose a pistol fight because of this, can be both annoying and hilarious when you get kids screaming thinking you're using a cheat though.

If your that bad a turbo controller won't help you very much. It's far more effective on cod 5 as the recoil on cod 4 means you cant control where it fires.

People using them should be banned. It's cheating. If you are that bad then practice is the cure. Try hardcore, it'll be fustrating at first but get used to not being rambo is the key, check round corners etc.
