Want to kick some Microsoft Ass

Had my 360 for about 2 years and finally got the RROD the other week. Registered the fault online, printed my label, UPS collected, got emials, Xbox comes back, all in all quite impressed with the service.

Today I plug the new Xbox in and fk me, its got RROD straight away. Now I'm pissed and want some help.

Firstly, the RROD doesn't seem to be constant like my first one was, if I give it a minute it'll run enough to get into a game and then crash where as before nothing at all happened other then the flashing red lights when I turned it on.

Secondly, this is just not cricket. I want someone at Microsoft to hear my greivences personally and say sorry like they mean it. I remember someone on here having a secret phone number or email address to contact to actaully make something happen.

Any advice you can give will be appreciated, I suppose I could just register the fault again and send it off like a good boy, but I do take exception to them replacing my broken Xbox with one that broke literally straight out of the box!

When my 2nd one went, I could choose from a choice of games or a choice of peripherals. Also got a months Xbox Live.

xboxes are massive unreliable rubbish. my friends one has scratched 2 games to beyond use. £30 a game. and the rrod will never end.

It all depends who you speak to over the phone I reckon. My first phonecall was to the Microsoft Office in England (Provided by Carl, thanks again matey) when you phone them you get an option asking if you know the person you wish to speak to. Now, apparently Bill Gates is not available through Reading, but I did manage to get hold of a bloke who was able to refer me to someone else nearer the top of the Mircoshaft tree.

After explaining my situation and total disappointment in their product (and a slight moan about their stupid new CS phone support system ste) to Jacob, who apparently used to race Legends at Knockhill, I managed to get a couple of freebies and was assured that a brand new console with the new chipboard thing would be sent back.


I still say we blow up everything to do with Microsoft though...

well lets see, i dont own either, i have lots of friends with both which is when i play games, all the xboxes have had to be repaired or are awaiting repair when they can be bothered to send them off.

none of my friends ps3`s have EVER had a single problem.

i still think when they are both working they are just as good as eachother.

how is it biassed not owning either but clearly seeing that xboxes are unreliable?

My friends Porsche broke down once, why don't you jump off to the Porsche forum, tell them you've never owned one, but you think they are crap because you know someone that had one once and it broke down

haha, if i knew 10 people whose porsches ALL broke then i would not have a problem telling people about it.

seriously grow up i was just saying that there are a few very common and well known about problems with xboxes. just look on youtube at the amount of attempted fixes.

oh and calm down, i like xboxes but was just saying they are not very well built.

Strangely enough though this being the computer games forum and since most people posting in it have an xbox or ps3 I am sure we are all aware of the problems. Thanks for your really useful input though, I eagerly await your next pearl of wisdom!

Make sure you ask what compensation you are going to get, because I can't imagine they will just offer

Most returns come with a months Xbox Live regardless, so don't settle for just that.

I got a free wireless joypad with mine.

We have had 5 or 6 RROD Xboxes in the house since launch between myself and the kids !!

There is not denying that the xbox built quality is pathetic compared to the PS3's.

Now, if we could stop attacking the poor bloke.. He's made it quite clear that he owns niether so why persue it any further??

Just had Ken ring me from Xbox Global Escalation Team in the states. He asked me what I wanted and I said "a new Xbox that will work", so I'm getting a brand spankers Premium ('Retail Quality') sent ASAP and he is ringing back on Monday to talk free stuff/compensation, not bad seeing as my original Xbox was nearly 3 years old.

Impressed with the service, the guy I spoke to in the UK this morning really shifted and it seems things have swung into action very quickly. Thanks for the advice everyone.

dont worry about me i am not poor.
i have had lots of fun playing on xboxes but trying to deny they are unreliable is only denying a well know fact.

Good stuff, any chance of you PM'ing the number you called to me, just incase 1 of my 2 xbox's goes tits up??

1 is a launch console thats REALLY loud.
the others about a year old, fingers crossed for both.

pm`ing the number? is it a secret? i have lots of broken xbox owning friends that would love the number.

surely anything off of microsoft is a bonus after the mass sales of poorly built goods (may i add that are great when are fully operational to stop the fanboys hating me)
