I've got an xbox and an xbox 360. When I got the 360 I transferred my live account over to the 360.

Anyone know if I'll still be able to get my old xbox online using the same account if I just plug it into my router?

No, unless you go through the rigmarole of transferring your account back to the old one.

Although you should be able to play most games using your 360.

I know most of the games are backwards compatable with the 360 but I have lots of saved games on the hdd of the xbox.

Not that I have done it since around the time the 360 came out, but I am sure I was able to just switch between the 2 without having to recover anything.

However, times change, and like I say, I haven't tried it for over 3 years.
