It's not hit the shops over here yet...
Waiting for it myself.
Managed to plough through FFX to tide me over and, just last night finished Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2 over there: top game!)
Buy it, it's more of the classic FF/Square formula. If you liked the others, this'll rock!

cept my problem is money mainly. being a kid and all i dont got much cash, so is paying the $13 a month worth it?
If you mean online side of it, I can see the attraction but I haven't because I worry about the time as well.
After all it is only one game, and the interest levels can only last so long...
Just MHO of course.

From what Ive heard its a pretty top notch MMORPG. If you liked the FF series (7-10) then its a must have.
They had some serious teething troubles with the Japanese launch, but they were fixed long ago.
Sony online entertainment runs the EQ servers etc so its not as if they dont know what they are doing
Problem is its on a PS2, not a PC. You will need a keyboard to actually interact with other players....
I play a lot of Diablo2 online, used to be hooked on Everquest. Ive spent a lot of evenings just aimlessly chatting rather than playing lol and met a few great people as a result. Cant see the PS2 having the same appeal really.
Most of the greif players in online games tend to be kids (Not taking a dig unlicenced! but the people who try and scam, kill other players etc tend to be in their teens.) but the subscription element tends to weed a lot of them out. With a PS2 on the other hand your still likely to have a very young player base.
If youve got a PC, there are a host of other games that could be a viable alternative, from Everquest, EQ2 coming next year, Worlds of Warcraft (next year) star wars galaxies (out now), Dark age of Camelot (out now), Rubies of Eventide (out now). To name just a few!
Your likely to invest a lot of time (not to mention money) in a MMORPG so take the time to pick one.
Having said all that, I was totally hooked on the last few FF games on the PS2.. might be tempted into giving FFXI a go if ive got some pennies to burn
