COD Zombies - PC version
Discussion
For those who love the zombie mode on COD World At War on the xbox 360, I thought it may be worth mentioning
that the PC version has loads of FREE addon maps for even better zombie action! Me and a few mates kept playing
the zombie mode on the 360 and all of us would keep suggesting it would be great with bigger maps, or the ability
to go outside etc.I went looking for the PC version (assuming there would be a few maps knocking about) and I came
across at least 30 addon maps! This may be old news to some, but it was new to me
Well, it has transformed the game for us to be honest. We won't play on the 360 version ever again.Even some of the silly
maps are great. On one for example, we were just inside massive, massive rooms (ones where even a running zombie would take
quite a while to get to you) and you could stand on top of a set of stairs and snipe to your hearts content. On another, as
zombies came running up the beach from landing craft (Private Ryan style), you could use a mounted gun to fend them off.
There are maps with large outdoor and indoor areas, zombies coming in from the water, various houses and buildings, modern guns,
small tight manic maps, etc etc etc.And the maps just keep on coming and coming and all for free.
I grabbed some shots of just a few areas of a few maps out of the 30 or so I now have...

On some of the maps, you have really big areas. These two below are the same map
for example. You start at one end of a bridge, run all the way over that, into
a house (upstairs too), out the back of the house and into another area.So when
you see my shot aiming at the zombies from a distance, you can run all the way up
to them and go past them if you wish. It's not just me aiming out of a window etc.
Great fun

You can also use voice comms and add friends and invite them, so it's still quite easy to set games up and all the games
can be passworded and for friends only.Due to not being able to find my PC headset (ordered another), we just used the
LIVE party chat on the 360 and played on the PC at the same time for now

Xbox 360 pad works fine on the PC, but on some racing games you may have trouble keeping the gas and brake seperate.
No big deal though.Or you can download a util and buy an adapter to use the original Xbox pad and that allowed me to split those
triggers.
Anyway, we have just been having a proper laugh on a map called Afterwar for zombies. You start off in a small wooded area with a bit of a pond, small tower and an old hut scattered about the edges, then we realised the map was full of free modern guns! (M4, AK, M5 etc etc), so we opened a fence, arrived in a graveyard and had the sounds of modern weapons ringing out as we battled to keep the undead at bay

Smallest map we have come across so far (well actually the mod has 3 maps, all brilliant imho!) but this was the first tiny one.
It is just a small square house with no exits. This is me backed into the corner.Great for simple fast fun.

All the maps are free. All you need is COD 5 and to google zombie maps. There is a 1.4 gig (or there abouts) map pack if you search for it, but maps are coming out all the time.If you need any help setting it up or trying single player, give us a shout here and I will talk you through it, it's not too bad to set up
Oh, you will also need to update COD with official patches.Get the 1.2 patch, then the 1.2 to 1.4 patch.
If you get reaaaly stuck, I can burn them all (maps and patches) onto a DVD and mail em on if it helps.
