Xbox elite VGA cable
Discussion
Not sure what you're getting at, you'll need a specific VGA cable designed for the 360 (a normal one won't work) which fits into the AV out port on the back of the 360 in the same place the component cable would. It then hooks up to a TV or a Monitor in the normal way, with the regular connector.

I'm thinking about plugging my xbox via the VGA into the tv. Because I'm at work I'm hoping some one can tell me if the 360 VGA socket needs a male or female VGA cable
Thanks
The Elite comes with a component/composite Cable and a HDMI Cable. Thanks

Don't forget that VGA does not carry the sound, the xbox connector outputs the sound via 2 RCA plugs, so you need a sound system to plug them into to hear anything.
If its a HDMI TV (and I assume it is if it has VGA) then you might be better off with that as the TV will be geared towards receiving signals that way. Try both, its usually personal preference in the quality of the image displayed.
If your TV can only get say 420p then there is no difference between HDMI/VGA or composite. VGA is geared more towards PC monitors as it supports 16:10 ratios were HDMI is (usually) better for TV's
If you want to be really awkward then get a HDMI->VGA connector, but again there will be no sound unless you lowjack the HDMI socket (more on this if you google it!)

I'm looking at putting the 360 in the lounge with hdmi to the tv. Then VGA cable to the bedroom tv. I forgot about the sound cables through. I have just bought a male/female VGA extender but now need 10 meter sound cables. What's the sound cables called? I buy from www.cableuniverse.co.uk
Thanks
