Microsoft have extended the RROD 3 year warranty to encompass the E-74 error too. If you've already paid for a E-74 repair, you will be refunded that payment within 4-12 weeks.

I'm sure someone on here suffered the E-74 recently, so this should be a breath of fresh air smile

No Idea, i just opened mine up at the weekend to give it a hoover, 4 years of dust was making it overheat every 20 mins, just shuts down and flashes red, now works as good as new again.

I was thinking that as well. But I've sent mine off.

The disc drive was playing up, so I opened the tray and scooped a shed load out and it worked fine.

You can get add-on fans but I read that they can worsen the problem rather than help!!

Erm... E-74 isn't an overheating problem. 2 Red Quadrants is an overheating situation, E-74 is usually the ANA/HANA chip lifting off the board (but I have fixed an E-74 console by strapping the GPU down a bit tighter)

You won't get E-74 from dust buildup.
