Hmmm sounds like it will be difficult to police bearing in mind there have been so many pro tunes sold and given away for free.
I think you would be better off choosing a car that has not had an established "pro" tune made for it yet. A car that people rarely use to race with. That way there will be less chances of someone applying a bought tune (most tunes will be similar to at least one of the pro tunes of the common cars).
Something like an Aston or a Jag?

It is a quandary I agree but I would like to believe in the PH Moral Code of Conduct that will keep people playing the game as it were.
Tuning one Specific car is boring and not to everyones tastes.
I am trying to get the New people involved. When I first started playing Tuning seemed like a huge complicated step. So the option to 'have a go' seems more fair.

My Idea (which rich dismissed like a trainee with bad time keeping), was to pick 2 or 3 tracks that the car should be tuned for.
Then everyone entering would post there best times on each of the track
Up side is it would be easy to see if any leader board tunes where being used or known Pro tunes.
BIG downside is that you have to be a quick driver yourself, which does not allow the new guys to have a go.
But what rich has proposed is meant to be Fun, much like my new favorite car, the no aero M3 E92 from ‘Gearbox’ not the fastest car but dam its fun to drive (unless curry doesn’t switch TC on!).
Like the Paint contests, you have some photorealist work up against cartoon stuff, each can be judged it own merits. We can do the same for Dift v Grip v Laptime monster v racer v wheeli v missile v etc etc

I'll put my hat into the ring for this one.
I would also suggest that the cars have to be tuned to be competitive on most of the tracks.
If we are allowed to enter tunes that have been done for a while, if we are then i would like to enter the CB Mini B700.
I have chosen this car because it has proven time and again to be a consistent form and has earned me over 1,000,000 credits in online racing alone. The Mini has also made its way around alot of PH'ers. I even remember that when ih8thisname was gifted his one, he told me that it bet most of his fastest laps first time out.
It's turn in is commented on alot, thats due to a lack of real downforce.
Oh and tip for when and if you test ....avoid the kerbs.

Roight, i've made myself a RWD A850 Saab 9-3 NO AERO with the thick end of 500hp as shown;

Painted it

I've tweaked everything I can including shortening the gearbox ratios and these are my times so far;
Mugello Short - 59.359
Suzuki East - 51.832
Maple Valley Short - 40.641
Tsukuba Short - 44.511
Sebring Short - 1:15.898
Road Atlanta Short - 1:00.016
Sunest Infield Short - 1:02.327
I've been more than a little tempted just to wang on a spoiler to stop the rear end from stepping out instead of faffing with bloody settings. I think i'll be sticking to buying my tunes from now on.

If they are a track tune, this is not all about tune a fast lapper. Dift etc are all valid.I would also suggest that the cars have to be tuned to be competitive on most of the tracks.
I also think you should not enter the Burns Mini.. we all know that car and its tune, and know its fast.
This comp is all about creating new cars for us all to play with and have new fun...

So am I allowed to sell mine on the AH before the competition closes?I also think you should not enter the Burns Mini.. we all know that car and its tune, and know its fast.

IMHO any vehicle entered should be newly developed. To keep this as open as possible... anything goes.
However, the ethos would be to try something new and for this particular Comp.
If you state it is an old Tune or you are selling it on the Auction House then that is ok but we can't score as highly as FRESH cars!

I think JH will agree on this.
