Had one the other night, Chili con carne... nasty.

RROD on ebox on Sunday, hair dryer on cold for 2 mins, all was fine and still is.

I've had it cooled down for a while now and no joy. When I switch it on it sounds like something is trying to spin up, but it's not the hdd, cos it does it still when that is off. Dunno wether it's worth trying to get inside it.

providing you've owned your 360 for under 3 years it should still be under microsoft warranty!

What i didnt realise was the 3 year warranty is only for the RROD not for all issues, hence mine not being under warranty as mine is dying of something else... lol

The D in RROD stands for death, a hair dryer would not revive it, when it dies, it dies (otherwise it wouldn't be called RROD). Sounds like yours just overheated, which also generates red quadrants, but the Xbox can recover from that.

It also gets red quadrants when the cables aren't seated properly.

In short, quadrants light up red when there is an error and therefore not every red light is the RROD.
