GOW 2 Problems - Crashing my 360

Got GOW2 Brand new and every time i go to start playing it crashes on the first cut scene!
I have to then restart the machine, it always crashes around the same part, also when selecting the difficulty i have to select it twice, which seems odd! i chose, hardened, then it prompts me again. i have tried to select the other 3 options and tried to go back but it loads the cut scene then crashes 10 seconds in.

Any ideas troops?

Right i have taken the ethernet cable out, still crashes. no marks on the disc, but it did do a game update when i put the disc in!
can i delete the update?
i have deleted any GOW data from the hardisc. GOW 1 and 2

I installed it onto drive as I'd heard it works the DVD drive quite hard.

Never had any probs..

how did you install it, i never got an option!

The option for installing it to hardrive is on the dashboard somewhere. Can't get on the xbox at the moment, but its pretty easy to find.

Edit, just saw your rrod post, guess you won't be playing for awhile.
