On the GH subject. I cant get on line at present as Im renting a flat until i move in our house in a couplf of months.
is there a list of songs you can download anywhere? im getting a bit bored of the standard ones.

You need your Xbox online to download them, so even if you did have a list, you would not be able to get them. Once you do get online, you will be able to access the downloads within the menus, see the list for yourself and get what you want is there a list of songs you can download anywhere? im getting a bit bored of the standard ones.

Or sign into xbox.com and you can browse all downloads for all games/videos/trailers/etc on there. You can even queue them up so when you next connect your Xbox to Live, they will download automatically

I recommend the freebie Top Gun song (they call it the 'Holiday Song' or something like that??). Personally, the only thing I downloaded was the Muse pack. Not a lot of choice on GH3, well, there is, but not for me.....

Rather than download songs it's probably much cheaper to go and get hold of Guitar Hero 2, Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: World Tour, any of which will give you a bundle of new songs for a lot less than what it would cost to buy the equivalent amount via DLC.
A very good idea, although you would need to be planning a lot of downloads to make up the price of a game.World Tour would be my pick of the bunch

I love Guitar Hero. I got GH:WT for xmas - the full band pack with drums and everything
And the online play is great!
GH:WT seems to be a bit easier than GH3 to me, well, not necessarily easier, but the transition between difficulties is much better. Medium to hard on GH3 was a nightmare, but the transition on WT seems better because the first few songs make the 4-finger notes harder, but only gradually bring in the 5th finger.
Next stop, Rock Band 2...anyone got this on the 360?

I'm more of a GH2 man myself, not spent long enough with world tour to have a full opinion formed, but there's a lot of chaff in amongst the wheat, whereas I found the GH2 soundtrack to be 99% excellence.

Seems to be full price everywhere and can't find the solus edition

I don't like the fact you have to play sets on GH:WT now, but I do like quite a few of the songs. Wouldn't have them on my MP3 as such, but good fun to play

If the GH range had as much or the same range of DLC as Rock Band, or if I found Rock Band as much fun as GH, I would be a happy man

I know what you mean, sometimes, although very rarely (1 or 2 songs so far in GH:WT), you are left there doing nothing as it is a drum or singing solo part
However, I would say it is nothing different than you got in GH3 anyway.
I just don't like the feel of Rock Band, doesn't seem to flow as well as GH. GH lets you get in the groove and provides a very 'arcadey/fun' feel IMO, whereas Rock Band just feels a bit slow and serious
