Looks good, but it's just gone from a 'must buy' to 'wait and see' after reading the comments about the terrible controls on the PC version.

Looks great and the gamespot review is very good (9.0) for the xbox.

I think this one will be coming home with me!

OK - worked my way through L1 so far...I have to say I'm really enjoying it!

Although I've only just realised that the boxes with green lights on can be broken for cash / ammo rolleyes

A few good shocks so far and a few more to come I dare say...bring it on!

I had a moment of weakness and bought the PC version anyhow. Controls are a bit on the sucky side - mouse feels sluggish and reluctant to move then suddenly 'lets go' and moves and your view is flying all over the place. It's going to take some getting used to frown

Having said that the game itself is great, though so far not the ground-breaking brilliance I was expecting.

I bought it on Friday night and have to say it's not scary in the slightest. It's good fun, though. Chapter 6 so far...

indeed, tis deff not crap, I have it and it kicks ass.

the one thing i will say is the flamethrower is crap. and the line gun kicks ass, and you need more ammo. keep running out at the worst moments, like gotta press a button to start the engines, and then st loads of enemies come flying out, when you have just killed plenty and nearly emptyed every weapon. but I would say that that just makes the game a bit harder as you have to think about how to use the weapons and conserve ammo by head and leg shots. (can kill them by mid body, but takes a whole clip from the pulse rifle)

It's saved me on more than a few occasions.

I think shortage of ammo is one of the key aspects of the survival horror genre.

If you had as many bullets as you needed, the threat of overwhelming doom would be much less.

I'll second that, flamethrower is very good when it comes to taking out those little things that come along the floor and jump you !!!

In fact, it's not bad overall.

The pulse gun is also pretty good, although others don't rate it ??

I think once fully upgraded, guns that aren't good at the start, turn into pretty good weapons.

Only problem(s) I have with the game are, it's a bit short and why does it take so long to look up !! Started giving me a headache on my first go, getting used to it now though.

18 hours played, finished it once and already on level 7 for my second run using the Plasma Cutter only !!

I think I will finish the run I am on now, then finish it on impossible, get my 1000 points out of it and then trade it back for full store credit in readiness for GOW2 smile

Is it scary ?? Is it fook frown Not a touch on trouser moments compared to Resident Evils of old for example frown

Bought this yesterday.

Got upto mid way through Ch3 last night.

Really quite enjoying it, the atmosphere is good, Id say its eery not scary.

Dont know how people can be running out of ammo really, you can buy it by the bucket load in the stores.

Ive tried the line gun and pulse rifle, although the line gun is pretty awesome, you cant carry much ammo for it, so I tend to use it to cut down swathes of monsters when they appear. Tend to use the plasma cutter as its more accurate than the pulse rifle.

Got this on Saturday on Xbox 360 and made use of the extra hour by giving it a good 3hr jaunt from midnight until 3am. Had all the lights turned off etc and was alone downstairs in the house (fiance was in bed upstairs) so couldn't have it too loud.

Found the atmosphere of the game quite interesting and actually found it to be quite involving. I really did lose myself into the game.

Some of the best bits are the zero G bits along with the jaunts outside into the vaccuum of space. I like the way the sound gets muffled. Also enjoyed some of the bits of the ship, like the bridge where you can see the planet in the background and all the asteroids.

The weapons are pretty good, i like the ripper the best. Nothing like chopping up limbs etc. I'm just about to start Ch5 and have upgraded my suit to level 3. Generally I am finding the game quite original and the monsters are cool too.

I have known about this game for nearly 2 years and I think the wait has been worth it.

Just as an FYI, does everybody know you can go to the dashboard and download a free Xbox themed suit for the game ? I think it is level 5 (as it says I already have level 5 in my inventory, but will let me buy a level 6 if I want).

It is free for both Xbox and PS3.

Should save you some credits smile

I didn't get a higher level suit than the free one until I completed it.
