Right, got PSP, what do I just "have" to have with it ?

Using the tube more now so thought I would buy some entertainment for it, comes with a few games and a few videos.

I really want the GTA series for it.

Apart from that I don;t know what else I should get for it, any recommendations ?

I read somewhere about a GPS for it, battery pack, what games are good ?.

Any help to enhance my gaming experience ?

I have neither, but have been tempted by a PSP... Although wouldn't say no to a DS either!!

I think one of the good parts of the PSP is being able to watch vids/recorded movies/TV... Screen is supposed to be good for that.
This is according to a friend who has both.

What the hell is the first two things ? won;t the game just play normally ?

What does the firmware do ?, is it necessary

Broadband ? is it wifi enabled as well ? sweet Jesus that would be good, do I need anything special to hook up to the tinternet ?

Before I got rid of my PSP I had Amiga, SNES, GBA emulators on it. Great fun.

Wooooooooooooo, that soubnd "techy" and I anit that. Down grade to upgrade so i can brew my own ?

What does this firmware do ? why does it need changing ?

Is the set wifi enabled or do I have to buy anything extra to get it working ? if I was in a coffee shop could I just switch on my PSP and then use their internet connection to surf PH ?

I just want to play games and watch a few movies, can movies be played from a memory stick, if so what format, and what are the alltime good games for this console ?

The firmware basically contains the operating system for the psp (like windows) and newer versions enable new features. The PSP has wi-fi built in and can update without being connected to a PC.

You can watch movies on it without custom firmware but need to convert the videos into the correct format. I have used something called 3gp converter before which does a pretty good job.

Getting away from the firmwares, a couple of games;

God of War: Chains of Olympus is supposed to be very good

as is

LocoRoco, although the music may make you after a few minutes

also LocoRoco 2 should be out sometime...

I just finished God of War: Chains of Olympus the other day, brillant game.

LocoRoco is pure bonkers.

I enjoyed Need For Speed Carbon. Playing through "Chili Con Carnage" at the moment, it's a silly game, but good fun.

Thankyou for that, i was stting it thinking I would have to sort loads of stuff out before I could play a game.

Thanks for the game recommendation as well guys, any others, it is coming with Metal Gear Acid , Wipeout Pure , Tiger Woods PGA tour 07 and Football Manager handheld 2007, have no real interest in wipeout or football manager so if there is anyone who wants to swap them for something let me know.

Daxter was quite good. Kept me happy for a week or so...
If you're big on RPGs (more importantly Final Fantasy VII) get FFVII: Crisis Core. Quite good, that one.

Forget Tiger Woods and get one of the Everybody's Golf games. They don't have the real life courses or characters, but they play a much better game of golf.
The 2 Syphon Filter games are very decent action shooter type games.
TOCA Race Driver 2 is a quality racing game.
Lumines is an evil addictive block-matching type puzzler with some cool tunes.
