Well its finally coming out on Friday. So who's ordered it/getting it. And, does anybody know if Tesco will be doing a similar offer to the one they did for Fifa??

I'll be getting it soon, might download both Demo's and decide which I prefer.

I've been playing the demo of PES 2009 & it's a little bit different (again). It's easier to catch the throughballs and you can move at right angles better.

Worth another £40, no.

Eek, was going to get it on release day. I want the best footy game though... decisions decisions.

I will probably get it anyway, I don't have online so that makes no difference to me.

i own pes 2008 on PS2, because at the time, i had yet purchased a 360..now i own a 360 ive downloaded pes09 demo and i couldnt believe the difference! and im not talking for the better...
i am blown away by the graphics i admit, but the game play has slowed right down compared to that on the playstation 2..
yes yes ok it is the playstation 2 and i know and there are going to be differences between consoles, but on the playstation 2 it was fast paced and action packed and i felt response time from my controler to the players movements were second to none..

now is it me just not used to it.. or does anyone else notice this..
ive been a long time user of pes and have bought the games right back to the ISS days.. but im not sure whether to buy the latest on ps2 or keep at it on the xbox

PES peaked somewhere around version 5 IMO.
I'm going to trade PES2008 against 2009 and hope they've sorted out the main issues i.e. zero allowance of slide tackling, the CPU scoring 99% of freekicks anywhere inside 40 yds and shocking online play. If not, I fear arcade action on FIFA may become a necessity, or indeed reverting to PES5 for footy fixes.

Well at least you can put a foot in. I've only played it for an hour but it looks to be much better than 2008.

A lot of reviews have said that Fifa 09 and PES 2009 are not really going head to head but cater for slightly different tastes. Fifa goes for the sim type player but PES is better for a quick fix.

I bought Fifa a few days ago and love the "Be A Pro" mode. It is different and takes a bit of getting used to but is really good.

Some YouTube vids of Fifa special moves:
