Must own 360 games
Discussion
I'm not sure if a thread has been done on this but having just got my brand spanking new 360 elite not too long ago I'd like to know what are the must own games, the must haves mind, not just ok games.
I've got
Assasins Creed (just started, looks sweet)
Bourne Conspiracy (Completed, and I liked it)
Forza 2 (nuff said)
Halo 3 (see above)
Mass Effect (Not usually an RPGer but this looked too good to pass up, and it came with the 360)
Too Human (see above)
Madden 08 (I admit that I enjoy the Madden games more than I should, but this one seems way to complex for my poor English brain).
So what must I buy, and why? Over to you.

Oblivion - Absolutely stunning game that has taken far too much of my spare time.
GTA IV - Just gotta have this.
Fight Night Round 3 - Great boxing sim, really good online or 2 player as well.
COD4 - Fantastic single player mode, best multiplayer mode too....
Cant really think of any others off the top of my head.

In the next month you'll be looking to get Gears of War 2 (so get the first one in now) Fallout 3, FarCry 2 and Fable 2. Expensive month.
I'd also add Rock Band 2, that's this month I think. So it's also worth mentioning Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

On its way
GTA4 - Don't expect it to play like the previous games in the series, it doesn't, but theres still LOTS of fun to be had and the detail they've put in is stunning.
PGR4 - Awesome arcade racer, its the game I revisit most
Orange box - must have, just for Portal which you'll complete in a night but will change your life* but HL2 and the two episodes on the disc are well worth the price too
They're my top 3 based on what I repeatedly go back to play. Thoughts on other games...
Forza 2 isn't bad, I prefer the hop-in-hop-out arcade style of PGR4 though.
Gears of war looks great but left me a bit cold since the gameplay mechanic is quite repetitive (hide, shoot, run a bit, hide, shoot, run some more).
Halo3 is awesome online but prepare to get spanked in multiplayer, everyone is WAY too good. Single player is pretty good but no tactical side, just shoot anything that moves.
COD4, played the beta and loved it, will probably pick it up at some point when I get bored
Crackdown is good if you liked the earlier GTA's
Assassins Creed, I gave up on after running about on the rooftops for a while, once that novelty is gone theres not much more too it to keep you interested
Hope that helps
oh, the Madcatz MC2 steering wheel/pedal controller is great if you're in to driving games!
Portal may not actually change your life*

Two of the best :
Bioshock
Half Life 2 : Orange Pack
Bioshock is awesome, really full of suspense, but ludicrously easy and doesn't really lend itself to playing again. I'm intrigued about HL2, remember playing the original on the PC some time many aeons ago and being blown away by it. Worth a punt?Bioshock
Half Life 2 : Orange Pack
I've played most of the top games, and for single player the standout game is bioshock, and I was never the biggest fan of shooters, but its the story that makes this game, frankly anyone who doesn't play it is an idiot if they have the opportunity to get into it, its that good.
As for multiplayer, well my advice is go with whatever the PH massive is playing and stick with them, as most multiplayer is spoiled when you play screaming american kids. So I'd put my money into gears of war 2 next month (you might want to get gears 1 to glance through the story [its not a long single player] to play catch up).

Not overly long but engrossing while it lasts
Dead Rising is def worth a shot at the bargain money it goes for these days.
Dead Space coming out shortly and is meant to be a very good survival horror game, something a bit different to all the others.
I think everyone has covered the rest above really!
